I chanced upon this tourist posing for a photograph with a baby alligator at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, I just had to take a photo of her. Are you as brave? What's the slimiest animal you've handled?
I live in Florida, where gators abound. We are taught to keep away from them and don't feed them; they grow up to view humans as a source of food and that's how people lose limbs! We had pet turtles when we were little kids; I think that is the slimiest thing I've ever handled.
I love almost all critters and am not afraid of very many, but I must admit, gators, crocs, and sharks scare the heck out of me! So, nope, I wouldn't hold it! I'd hold an 8 foot long snake, but not that baby gator... I know, I'm weird.
I am a little nervous of reptiles .. I think it is because of their eyes. I held an 8 foot indigo snake once. It was a little scary as it wrapped itself around both of my arms (because they spend time in trees they anchor themselves when they are off the ground). I must say the skin was one of the softest and warmest things I have felt.

Em: I might have a hard time doing this with their sharp teeth.
