In the Philippines, we call sugar apple atis. I used to love this until I came across a maggot in one. Now, I don't dare anymore.

These are SO pretty! I love this picture. I have never heard of them before.
Lovley picture! Are they vegetables?
Looks kind of like a crab apple
Great picture. Never seen them before and never heard of them either. You learn something every day!
Oh...maggots no, interesting and unusual (to me) sugar apples. Great choice for the letter A.
They look like neat little brains!!!
I think that's what we call the Custard Apple! I've never eaten one - do you eat the seeds? That's the kind of thing that puts me off, not knowing how to eat them!
Maggots? Phooey! I find maggots in raspberries and fresh peas all the time, and I still eat them! ;)
This was fun - until the maggot. I remember finding a worm in cherries a thousand years ago and have avoided cherries since. :) Good post!
I used to think we get this Atis (we call it custard apple in India) only in India. My dad absolutely loves it..... And we get them in unimaginably huge sizes!
