Home Away from Home
Bayview Hotel Singapore, originally uploaded by Em Dy.
I called Bayview Hotel Singapore my home away from home twice already. I discovered this hotel while looking for accomodations near churches. Later, I found out that it's also a good starting point for The Great Singapore Sale, being walking distance to Bugis, Orchard Road and the Civic District.

Anchored
Unlike the other bancas which fishermen use, this one remains at shore all the time. This banca bears the name Remedios, like the resort, in remembrance of the resort owner's mother.

Old Country

Vigan is where the Philippines of old is very much preserved. It's nice to get out of the city once in a while and to get in touch with history.

Out for Lunch
Literally.
This photo was taken while on holiday at Sitio Remedios in Ilocos. One of the attractions of the place is its restaurant Abrao where guests experience dining alfresco, underneath the tree while the wind makes the chimes sing magically. The views are that of the pool, the South China Sea or the plaza surrounded by restored old houses. The meals are usually anchored around traditional Ilocano cuisine; bagnet, pinakbet and longganisa come to mind.
