Well Preserved
They don't build buildings like they used to. Thanks to heritage conservation advocates, we get to view these remnants of the past.

A Fly Up Close
When we see flies, we dismiss them and swat them right away. I thought they were just black and gray. But thanks to the macro function of the camera, I realized how beautiful they are. I wouldn't have known otherwise if I didn't stop to take a picture.

"No", I said when the animal trainer offered the snake to me. She said, "So that you'll have a souvenir photo with the snake". I said, " Never mind, I'll just take your picture if it's alright with you." I didn't want to do it. Aside from fear, I didn't want to pay the fee for the photo opportunity. It's a good thing she agreed to have her photo taken without a fee.

Red and Old
The Christ Church of Malacca, built in the 1700s, is but one of the red buildings in the square. It is a reminder of the city's Dutch history which goes back to the 1400s.

Religious Art
The Philippines is a predominantly Catholic country. Religious artifacts and statues are but a few examples of public art. This is a photo of a life-sized statue of St. Dominic in a garden at Caleruega, a place of meditation.

Panalangin
A wish is at all times accompanied by a prayer that it comes true. And sometimes, it takes us to a lot of places. To Antipolo for those about to travel. To Obando for those who want to have children. To St. Anthony for those who've lost something. To St. Claire to pray for no rain.

Water, Water Everywhere
Notice how the ground is wet and the people are sporting umbrellas. This photo is of Mickey's Waterworks Parade where viewers get drenched. That colorful float spouts water. Although we were in the mostly dry zone, we still had to hide behind Kayers' jacket so as NOT to get all wet.

Do you remember those days when travel was reserved for a select few. Thanks to competition, many places are becoming accessible to Filipinos. Of course, a camera is an integral part of traveling. I'm sure you're just like the tourist above, whipping out the camera as soon as you land.
