Anchored

Anchored, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

Unlike the other bancas which fishermen use, this one remains at shore all the time. This banca bears the name Remedios, like the resort, in remembrance of the resort owner's mother.

The View

Sitio Remedios Chapel, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

One of my rituals when traveling is taking a photo of the room where I'm staying and the view from the window. During our trip to Ilocos early this year, we stayed at Sitio Remedios. We occupied Balay Radrillo, a two storey house with 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms and living and dining areas. What you see is the chapel, as seen from the balcony.

A Perfect Day at the Beach

Waikiki, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

Elements of a perfect day at the beach: sand, surf, a clear blue sky and probably a pina colada.

Pahinga

Kalesa B/W, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

Let's rest, said the rig driver to the horse. Let's stay in the shade, he added. Do you take a break? Or allow others to do so? You should. Everybody deserves a break.

Make Them Wear Red

Field Trip, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

A field trip can turn into a nightmare if a child gets lost. To avoid that problem, give clear instructions, initiate a buddy system or let the kids wear identical, easy to spot clothing. Red is a good choice as it is striking.

Three and then Some

Red, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

Took this photo at a local hotel. It was windy so I had to wait in between gusts or to try to shield the flower from the wind.

It was raining when we arrived in Maui but we had to hurry to catch the sunrise at Haleakala. This was shot from the back of a moving vehicle.

300

Murugan, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

This photo was taken outside the Batu Caves in Malaysia. This is the world's biggest statue of Murugan. Even if this is made of concrete and not of gold, its construction was still very expensive. After all, 300 liters of gold paint was exported from Thailand. By the way, I have another photo here showing its size.

In a Relationship

To Church, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

The three women trudging up the steps to get to the church are the mother and her two daughters. Each woman is also in another relationship, this time with God; hence the church visit.

Tatlumpung Pirasong Pilak

Thirty Pieces of Silver, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

Many of us are familiar with the Last Supper and this representation. Perhaps the apostle easiest to recognize is Judas as he is almost always shown looking away or with a pouch next to him. The pouch supposedly contains the thirty pieces of silver he got in exchange for betraying Jesus.
