This is Magellan's cross, planted in Cebu by Ferdinand Magellan on his arrival in 1521. This signifies the entry of Catholicism in the country as the Spaniards are credited for making the Philippines a predominantly Catholic country. The mural depicts the events of that time.

A fence usually signifies that something is off limits or at least requires permission to enter. This structure in Malaysia was fenced and not open to visitors. But I managed to get a shot through the fence, using its parts to frame the structure.
