Lei

Lei Offering, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

Flowers are among the most photographed subjects in the world because of their beauty and colors. When photographed in black and white, a somber mood prevails.

There are two reasons why the photo is a sad one. First is the black and white interpretation. Second is the subject. The photo shows the leis offered on top of the marker acknowledging the bravery of men and women in the face of war, heroes all.

Taken May 2006 at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, USA

Very beautiful photo. Taking the picture of your subject in b&w conveyed solemnity and dignity. Very nice.
