Nice take on the theme. You smile sheepishly when you're embarrassed which resembles a sheep's meekness and timidity - I guess that's it, lol. Here's mine http://www.mirasblog.com/2009/01/photo-hunt-5-furry.html
Mira seems to be right with her answer according to most dictionaries I consulted: http://www.yourdictionary.com/sheepish Hmm, sheeps and timid, I don't know.
Many, many years ago at school, I recall being asked by the teacher to look up the definition and origin of sheepiness.
IIRC ... the term has been around for quite awhile. It can been being like a group of sheep ...timid and bashful.
Or, it can refer to the type of smile someone gives when making a mistake or being caught doing something they really shouldn't be doing. Sort of embarrassed but 'oh well' type thing..
Great photo of the sheep! I guess if you look at that last sheep on the right, he is kinda smiling at me! LOL My photo hunt is up, please come and visit soon

Hey those critters are cute! Nice photo:)
I have no idea about why it is called a sheepish smile, though Mira's explanation makes sense. I like your critters photo....
These guys, girls and young ones are very cute.
That's a cool a furry shot. And no, I am not sure about the answer to your question.
Thats a great shot. are the wet? or fur is just that wiggly? Thanks for the smile on my face.

Very good picture
Good shot, Em Dy, and you got two-for-one with this one: Camera Critters and Photo Hunt (Furry). Well done!
what a beautifully composed scene!!
I assume sheepish smile came to be because of how small their smiles are -
Great photo! And those things are furry! Sheepish maybe means shy or something like that, I think.
I did Photo Hunters too. I hope you get a chance to visit!

Happy weekend!
That's a very useful kind of furry. Makes me want to get my carder out.
All I can think of is the movie Babe when looking at this photo :-)
Haha. They made me smile, yes :) Great furrypost :)

Happy Photo Hunt!
Nice shot, I like the dark brown one!
Oh! I love sheep!!
Not the 'whitest' sheep but the most appropriate for the theme. Sheepish smile-true I think it comes with being timid...:D
