Make Them Wear Red

Field Trip, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

A field trip can turn into a nightmare if a child gets lost. To avoid that problem, give clear instructions, initiate a buddy system or let the kids wear identical, easy to spot clothing. Red is a good choice as it is striking.

Taken May 2006 at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu, Hawaii

Boy it looks like everyone is having fun. Looks like one or two snuck in non-red clothing, though.

I see this a lot at Walt Disney World - tour groups or families all wearing the same shirt. My mom used to do this with my brothers when they were little - she put them in the same shirt. If one got lost, she would say to the people looking, "look, he's got a shirt on just like this one"
