Paying Homage
On the left is Vigan Church, one of the oldest churches in Ilocos. The place is a must visit for tourists to Ilocandia. Here, locals and tourists pray to the heavens.
On the right is McDonalds where burger worshippers pay homage. What is interesting about this branch of this global fastfood company is that the design is in keeping with the province's heritage look.
The sky seems to separate the two.

Noodles for Long Life
We celebrated a birthday in the family last Saturday at a Chinese restaurant. As is customary, the meal included pancit because it signifies long life.
What about you? How did you spend your weekend? Do you practice the pancit tradition?

The Great Outdoors
This was what greeted me every morning I was in Australia for a 10-day seminar. The sky was blue despite it being winter then. It was a welcome respite to the concrete jungle I'm accustomed to. Wish I have something like this in my backyard.

Fathers' Day is one occasion where many businesses earn a lot of money. However, our fathers need our time, understanding and affection more than material things.

Heaven or Hell
Tastes like heaven, smells like hell
That's what they say about the durian, a fruit synonymous to Davao City. We were there last weekend and like many tourists before us had to go through this rite of passage. For me, it was neither heaven or hell. I'd grown accustomed to the smell as Mom's trusted aide Nene loves this so much and regularly buys her fill. As for the taste, I don't think it's heavenly. Durian is something I won't miss.
What about you? How was your weekend? Was it heaven or hell?

Presong Pusa
We often say that we should fight for our freedom. Yet, occasionally we curtail others' freedom. This tiger is one example. A glass wall separates the two of us. Both of us can move freely but his space is smaller compared to mine. He is also not at his natural habitat. Freedom is a right not exclusive to man.

Madamdaming Paglalakad
The bridal march is what I want to see most in weddings. As they say, a woman is most beautiful on her wedding day. As she walks down the aisle, a gamut of emotions run through her face. Joy because of a dream come true and of a celebration of love. Sadness as she leaves familiar territory. Fear as she embarks on a new adventure. The sight of the man waiting for her at the end and her family around her reassure her.

Pizza! Pizza!
I was in Megamall yesterday when I spotted Sbarro. Since I haven't been to this restaurant in a long time and I've heard good reviews about the white pizza, I decided to have a quick snack. I was surprised when I saw the selection. Pizza. Pasta. And a whole lot more.
I'm going back for the deep dish pizza. I've always been curious since it was featured in Discovery Travel and Living but didn't know it was available in the Philippines. Now I know better.
How was your weekend?
