And Out She Came Running

Suman, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

A woman shouted from the street and Mom's trusted aide Nene shouted back and started running to our gate.

The woman had just shouted Suman! Her favorite.

Suman is a native delicacy of the Philippines. As you can see from the photo, it comes in different shapes and sizes. Some are short and stout; yet others are long and thin. The difference does not end there and lies inside the covering made of leaves. They vary in terms of color, ingredients, taste, etc. Some go well with sugar, syrup or even mangoes.

Have you tried suman?

Did you discover something new last weekend?

Taken May 2008.

Sunshineforlife, so it's not year round?

Cookie, tsokolate e? Reminds of Bacolod Chicken Inasal. They have that combination.

Snap Catch, Tia Paring's is good too. May be brought to the US daw. Siguro, Europe din!

Yvelle, I had a co-fellow before who'd bring us suman from Batangas each time he went home. Yummy!

Panaderos, I just made you drool on your birthday over suman. Hope you can find some over there.

Belen, suki na rin siguro ang turing sa yo ni Manong.
