Tabemashou

Temaki, originally uploaded by Em Dy.

Tabemashou is a Japanese word which means Let's eat. What do you think we should eat then? Japanese food seems the most appropriate. This is what's called a California temaki, nori wrapped sticky rice, kani, tobiko and mango served with wasabi and soy sauce.

Here are more Japanese to English translations: temaki - hand-rolled sushi; nori - dried seaweed; kani - crabstick; tobiko - flying fish roe and wasabi - Japanese horseradish.

Taken April 2008 at Teriyaki Boy, Greenhills.

That looks delicious! And now it's dinnertime here, though it won't be quite so elegant.

The mere mention of Teriyaki Boy reminds me of my dear sister for she absolutely loves that place. :)

You're making me crave for sushi, Em. And I thought that I'd stop by to admire your photos. Didn't realize I'll end up hungry as well. Hahaha

I am not into Japanese food but I must say they have mastered food presentation.

Janet, there's art in food!

Wirelessbliss, am I making you hungry?

Natalie, don't you like Japanese food?

Carver, it was.

Sandycarlson, would you believe this is just about $2?

Panaderos, go grab some sushi. You can always blame me. Ha ha.

Lynn, try it and you might like it. I used to be the tempura girl but have since branched out. Japanese cuisine is delish.

Marie, T Boy is indeed reliable.

Ris, I haven't. Maybe I will.

Dhanggit, now you've given me something to research. I wonder what that means.
